Alexandra de Auisgrán: First Years

In 1975 at the age of 4, Alexandra de Aquisgrán started with her first ballet lessons. From this moment she was addicted to dance: The 4 year old child spent more time in ballet school then on playground. Her teachers remarked early that this extraordinary girl was a very talented dancer and started to support her. Already one year later, she had her first performances on stage in the “corps de ballet” of her ballet school and on stage at the professional theater of Aix la Chapel.

1985 was a very important year for Alexandra de Aquisgrán. She took her first lessons in flamenco and – at this time perhaps more important - she danced her first leading part of her young life: The “Grand Pas des Deux” of the ballet “Le Corsaire” from Adolphe Adam. Only a few months later, Alexandra danced title role in a ballet based on “Momo”, a famous story written by Michael Ende. The great success of her performances was a turning point in Alexandra’s life: She decided to become a ballerina, a decision that changed her life. On the one hand it was the beginning of a great dream but on the other hand it was the end of a teenager’s pleasant life.
